MMW

Music, Movement & Wellbeing

Creative, physical and wellbeing activity designed to build confidence, lift mood and bring people together across generations — with mentoring alongside.

🎵

Music

Singing, rhythm, listening, songwriting, live performance and shared musical memories that help people connect and express themselves.

💃

Movement

Dance, expressive movement and gentle or seated creative activity that makes participation possible across ages and abilities.

🫶

Wellbeing

Accessible physical activity, relaxation and practical wellbeing approaches that support mood, resilience and confidence — adapted to age, ability and setting.

The MMW experience

Easy to join. Meaningful to experience.

MMW uses music and movement as an invitation: a familiar rhythm, a favourite song or a simple creative activity can help people take part without pressure.

Children and young people can strengthen communication and self-belief. Adults and older people can reconnect with creativity, memories and one another. Intergenerational sessions create space for stories, skills and joy to be shared.

An MMW experience may include

  • Singing, rhythm, songwriting and shared musical memories
  • Dance, expressive movement, and gentle or seated options for those who need them
  • Accessible physical activity suited to age, ability and setting
  • Relaxation, breathing and practical wellbeing techniques
  • Creative teamwork, storytelling and confidence-building prompts
  • Mentoring and coaching alongside the activity, not separate from it
  • Rehearsal or showcase opportunities for first-time and returning performers
MMW is deliberately broad. Music and movement are the most recognisable ways in, but they are not the only ones — the point is to find the activity that gets a particular person through the door, then keep the mentoring constant once they are inside. Every MMW experience will be shaped around the people in the room. Programme design and delivery will be adapted for the setting, age group, access needs and participant needs, with appropriate safeguarding and partner agreement.
